I don’t know if their is any problem with Nara but the odds have gone from around 1.60 to 1.85. I can’t find any info that she is ill so I choose to make a play as I like the odds.
Larsson J. – Nara K.
I will begin with Johanna, who currently is ranked 71 in the world. She ended her 2014 well and have continue to play well in 2015. She is 4-1 this year and she won her doubles match yesterday with Bertens. But today she was a set down as she lost 3-6 first set to Zheng, but Zheng had to retire. I don’t think she would have been here otherwise?
This is actually the first time Larsson has won 3 straight matches in an AO warm up event.
Last year she did her best result on HC in US Open, made it to R3 beating Sloane as best player. But other than that she never made it past 1R.
She is 8-8 (12 months) and 69-69 (50% winning rate) all time on HC.
And she is only 1-9 against top 50 players on HC.
Nara, currently ranked 45, is way more familiar with hard court.
She is 15-13 (12 months) and she is 113-82 (58% winning rate) all time.
She is also 8-2 against player ranked lower than her on HC.
Last year she made it to the Final in Washington, and also 3R in US Open. Beating players like Keys, Diyas, Rybarikova and Peng (which I holding higher than Larsson). And she made it to the QF in Auckland last year at this time.
If Nara servs okey she will have this match IMO as I see her as the better baseline player and the overall more stable player. I don’t trust Johanna even if I want her to win.
Nara in 2 or 3.
Nara – 1.85 @ Pinnacle
