This will be a interesting encounter to watch and I’m looking forward to it. It may be a roller coaster both on and off court?
I think that Sloane will have a good chance to advance to the next round, as she seems to be showing up on the right side, we never know though.. But she outplayed the home player Wozniak in the last round winning 6-3, 6-0. Serving pretty good with 68% first services points in and winning 74% of those, also saving 3-3 break points. She should be warmer in her clothes than Jelena and should start of better in this match i think..
Jelena has not played since her first round loss to Kanepi in Wimbledon and she should be a little rusty her you might think, she will certainly like to bounce back. Jelena have played som good tennis on hard this year with 14-7 wins reaching SF in Doha and Brisbane at best, but been beaten by top players on her way like Halep, Kerber, Serena, A Radwanska and Azarenka. But she also lost to Lepchenko and Makarova in 1-2 round matches…
Sloane has a record of 8-6 wins on hard this year with a QF in Indian Wells as best result (beaten by Pennetta) and R16 in USOpen beaten by Azarenka. Other than that she have beaten Ivanovic in straight but have some cruel losses in 1R as well.
They have met one time before, on hard as well and i the US. The match went the line to a decider when JJ coming back from a set down to take it 3-6. 7-5, 7-5. I think we will se a pretty similar score today, it will be a though one to call but I can see Sloane taking the first set and JJ coming back once again. The one who can hold their UE down and at the same time be the most aggressive player will win this IMO.
Sloane have had some problem against the top players and are on a 7 match loosing streak when she is facing a top 10 opponent, but she is looking good in Montreal and should be able to put up a fight here. I think we may see two tight sets or a deciding one, we are going to see a lot of games and breaks; in their last match they won 9 break points each.. And lets hope this will be a crazy one!?
